To the left of the Helghan Empire soldiers is a skill with a military helmet. Guerrilla Games would eventually make Horizon: Zero Dawn in 2017. The soldiers are soldiers of the Helghan Empire, the primary antagonists of the Killzone franchise. The squad of black soldiers with orange eyes references 2004’s Killzone on PS2, developed by Guerrilla Games. The wrench refers to Ratchet’s melee weapon, the Omniwrench, while the Bolts refers to the currency in the Ratchet games. This references the 2002’s Ratchet & Clank on PS2, developed by Insomniac Games. On the right-hand side of the rocket launch pad at the end of Turbo Trail, you’ll find a Bot with yellow ears, a tiny bot on his back, and nuts and bolts in his arms alongside a wrench. In 2016, Siren was ported to the PlayStation 4 with added Trophy support. The story is set in rural Japan, hence the straw hat. This references 2003’s Siren on PS3, developed by SCE Japan Studio. Protagonist Cole McGrath has electric superpowers one of which is the induction Grind that lets him accelerate along metal cables.Īt the end of the short side-path to the Multi-Tap, you’ll spot a Bot with a flashlight stalked by a Bot in a straw hat. This references inFamous, released on the PS3 in 2009 by Sucker Punch. Ghost of Tsushima was the last first-party PlayStation game developed exclusively for the PS4, after which the PS5 released.Īfter crossing the first Shock Platforms in the heavy rain section, you’ll see on the right a Bot grinding back and forth on a cable. This refers to Jin Sakai and the tree in his childhood home, as seen in 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima on PS4, developed by Sucker Punch. During the side-path to the PSone LCD Monitor, you’ll find a Bot in samurai attire next to a tree. In the third level they teach you one other important skill, climbing. The levels in this game are very linear, but often have a few different ways to solve a puzzle, and are made in ways that once you have progressed through a level you can easily access any part of the level, making the world your playground to mess around in. With this you can solve physics puzzles by lifting, pushing, sticking and swinging your way to victory. This is your most important ability and it is all the game needs. Your hand-stubs can stick to pretty much anything, and will only let go if you release the trigger for that arm. You can press the L and R buttons (respective to the left and right arm) to have your arms stretch out in the direction the camera is facing. Soon after stumbling through your first door, you will learn that your arms do not have to be limp and useless throughout the game. This is a very important part of the game, as it makes even walking up stairs feel silly. You will begin to notice how your character lazily stumbles around as he walks. The game begins with you falling, then getting up. However, there is a large amount of colors to choose from, and each section of your outfit can be colored separately, allowing for many unique characters. This might be one of the only games you can use what you learned in a physics class to feel smarter afterwards.īefore you get started, you can customize your character with a few different hats, shirts and pants, but there are not many options. In this puzzle physics game, you find yourself exploring massive mountain ranges, medieval castles and even the great sea. Human Fall Flat might be more fun that it should be. |
